Amuleto Manuela´s Sound Sculptures / dj sets, are mostly composed of wax music from the global south focused in afro rhythms and influences that traveled and still do across the Atlantic. Afro-latin, latin funk, Bullerengue, Samba, Currulao, Cumbia, Salsa, Charanga and Bolero among other genres are the carriers of the sonic narratives she performs. With playful complexity and joy she evokes beautiful places, rich stories and complex realities. Sharing her “sentimento do mundo” (world feeling) from her mestiza and diasporic perspective. Embodying epistemologies, past, future and present times. Her live performances have been featured in Festivals like Fusion Festival, Garbicz, In.habit.ants, Clubs as Klunkerkranich, Yaam, Badehaus, Acud Macht Neu, art institutions like SAVVY Contemporary, DAI, nGbK among others. Amuleto Manuela hosts a monthly radio show, Music Shrine, at Refuge Worldwide.
